Danny made a manual for the recently deceased, but the ghost lawyers went full panic mode over copyright. So, naturally, he heads online to find someone who can actually put words on paper—or ectoplasm, or whatever counts in ghost language. Let’s face it: the ghosts have been dead far too long. There’s just too much they don’t know, and Danny’s patience for explaining “how the living really die” is… limited.
Meanwhile, Jason is scrolling Tumblr, avoiding responsibilities, when something catches his eye. Someone—someone living or dead?—is describing the exact place he’s been dreaming about since he died. A land of the dead, a place between places, a weird liminal world where rules don’t quite apply… and apparently, this person needs help writing a manual about it.
Jason hasn’t written much since dying. Not really. His notebooks mostly held grumbles, snark, and plans for revenge. But this? This might actually be real. Real in a way that could explain everything he’s been feeling, every dream he’s had, and… maybe even why he feels so restless.
He pauses. Reads the post again. Yep. This is exactly the place. And what kind of Bat wouldn’t—strictly for practical reasons, of course—keep an eye on someone who seems to know everything about the afterlife? Not one. Definitely not one.
So he sends a message. Careful. Casual. Totally not suspicious.
Hey. I think you might know more about the dead than is strictly legal. Can we talk?
And just like that, two worlds—the living, the dead, and the in-between—are about to collide. Jason isn’t sure if he’s helping Danny, or if Danny’s about to teach him something he’s been missing for years. Either way… this is going to be interesting.
