The Justice League is silent.
Not because the situation is confusing.
Because they are processing.
A cult just summoned a ghost.
That ghost greeted Phantom like an old boyfriend.
And Phantom confirmed it.
Flash is the first to break.
“You dated a ghost?!” Barry blurts.
Danny points weakly. “I am a ghost!”
Constantine exhales smoke. “Kid’s got a point.”
Batman is already typing something into his gauntlet.
“Phantom,” he says calmly, “how many supernatural entities have you dated?”
Danny freezes.
“That feels like a trap question.”
The ghost girl laughs loudly.
“Oh man, he never told you guys?”
Danny groans. “Please don’t.”
Too late.
“He dated Ember for like three months.”
Flash’s eyes widen. “The ghost rockstar??”
Danny mutters, “It was a phase.”
The ghost continues counting on her fingers.
“And then there was that dragon princess—”
“That was ONE date!”
“—and the ghost knight—”
“WE WERE JUST TRAINING.”
Green Lantern whispers to Superman, “Is this kid collecting supernatural exes like Pokémon?”
Meanwhile the cult leader is losing his mind.
“THIS RITUAL WAS SUPPOSED TO SUMMON A WORLD-ENDING ENTITY!”
The ghost glances at him.
“Oh relax. I ended Danny’s world once.”
Danny facepalms.
Constantine is laughing so hard he has to lean against a wall.
Batman looks back at Phantom.
“Phantom.”
“…yeah?”
“Are any of your former partners potential global threats?”
Danny thinks about it.
“…define ‘global.’”
Batman adds another note to the file.
PHANTOM — potential diplomatic ties with hostile supernatural entities.
The ghost suddenly brightens.
“Oh hey! Speaking of threats, are we beating up the cult now?”
The League immediately turns to the cultists.
The fight lasts about thirty seconds.
Afterward, the ghost dusts off her hands.
“Well this was fun. Call me sometime, Danny.”
Danny panics.
“Nope! No calling!”
She winks.
“You still owe me a rematch.”
And disappears into green mist.
The League slowly turns back to Phantom.
Flash grins.
“So… dragon princess?”
Danny considers phasing through the floor and never coming back.
Batman simply says:
“We’re going to need a list.”
Danny has made a terrible mistake joining the Justice League.
